A/Prof. Laurencia Villalba

A/Prof. Laurencia Villalba is the past Head of the Vascular Surgery Department in Wollongong, the Founder of the Vascular Care Centre, the Clinical Lead and Founder of the Venous Thromboembolism service for ISLHD.
She is a member of the Court of Examiners for Vascular Surgery for the Royal Australasian College of surgeons and the first female to be one.
She is a founding member of the ANZ Venous Forum.
She has received awards for her research on Pulmonary Embolism management and treatment of deep venous disease including the Order of Phlebology Medal for excellence in the management of May-Thurner Syndrome, DVT and PE and the Graham Coupland Medal for outstanding contributions to the future of surgery by The Royal Australasian of Surgeons.
She has also received the Wollongong’s Mayor recognition award for her contributions to the community.
Laurencia is the proud mother of three young children and a strong advocate for women’s health and the fight against blood clots.
She is a highly sought after speaker at national and international meetings and an active researcher.
